In 2024, we combined our annual Filmmaker and Publisher Clubs, creating our new Q26 CLUB!

The Q26 CLUB carries out our mission by providing rigorous multidisciplinary, learn-by-doing modules over the course of 10 three-hour workshops at no cost to the members. Workshops are biweekly from Saturday, January 11, 2025 to Saturday, May 17, 2025 (tentative). Workshops are planned and facilitated by the Fellowship Leader and Fellowship Teaching Assistant.

The CLUB selects 10 emerging QTBIPOC creatives between the ages of 18-24 from multiple artistic disciplines. Previous participants have included burgeoning screenwriters, directors, producers, actors, literary writers, poets, and musicians.

Members complete two self-directed capstone projects: a self-selected deliverable (e.g. a feature script, song, short story, etc.) and a 1-3 minute short film created by the entire group from pre- to post-production. Throughout the process, members receive mentorship from the Fellowship Leader and volunteer mentors from the field of their artistic discipline, financial support, and additional career and networking opportunities from our partners and other programs.

Members who complete the program join a cohort of past CLUB, Filmmaker Club, and Publisher Club members from 2021-2024. The ultimate goal for all Members is to understand the value and skill required in a variety of creative fields, connect and collaborate with each other, and continue to create after the program ends with confidence and additional support.

Interested in joining the 2025 CLUB? Applications are opening soon!

The CLUB selects ten QTBIPOC creatives between the ages of 18-24 from multiple artistic disciplines. Fellows must reside in Los Angeles County. Previous participants have included screenwriters, directors, producers, actors, literary writers, poets, and musicians.

Testimonials

“I'm so grateful I found Q26. The club gave me the confidence to create the kind of art I want to create. Now, I am in post-production for a short film I wrote and directed.”

Kaila Tacazon, Filmmaker Club Member, 2022

“I acquired an internship through the Club. Now I am a content creator, a niche I never thought I’d be in this early in my career!”

Julia Kang, Publisher Club Member, 2022

“The Q26 welcomed me into their community with open arms and helped me to embrace my Queerness even more by giving me opportunities that exist in safe and Queer spaces. I now feel so involved in the Queer community and feel like I've made great contacts along the way. I've also learned so much about our community through the Q26. The film industry can be scary when you're on your own; the Q26 made me feel like I wasn't so alone in the industry or even out in the world. It is so refreshing and nice to work with Queer artists who are on the same page as myself or who I can learn from and develop new skills."

Torrie Mills, Filmmaker Club Member, 2021

I joined The Q26 last year and felt welcomed right away! The weekly scheduled meetings and workshops created a safe space to learn and grow my skills in filmmaking. I’ve met many fellow creatives that I’m excited to collaborate with in the future. I now have more experience and confidence to continue my filmmaking journey.

Carolina Behm, Filmmaker Club 2022
