Fiscal Sponsorships

Fiscal sponsorship is a financial and legal partnership where a nonprofit organization, like Q26, offers its tax-exempt status to groups, projects, or individuals, allowing them to receive grants and tax-deductible donations without forming their own nonprofit entity. This allows sponsored projects to offer potential donors the incentive of a charitable deduction for tax purposes. It also allows filmmakers and project owners to access grants that are only available to non-profits or fiscally sponsored projects.

Although we consider all proposals, our fiscal sponsorships prioritize film productions and creative writing-based programs.

Why Choose Q26 As Your Fiscal Sponsor

  • We open applications three times a year

  • Fiscal sponsorship allows you to provide a tax-deductible incentive to your donors. We send out the receipts they need, so you don’t have to.

  • We keep our administrative fee low, between 5-7% of your fundraising goal.

  • We work with each partner to confirm contract stipulations to ensure that the project at hand directly benefits the queer community without being detrimental to the project.

  • We utilize the Pre-Approved Grant model, which means that we do not take ownership over your project. We will not infringe on your copyright rights, limit your profit potential, or request any additional oversight past what is agreed upon in a contract that is reviewed together.
