The Issue At Hand: Why Our Work Matters
59% of the arts and culture workforce identifies as white while this group only makes up 26% of L.A county’s population.
18% of arts and culture professionals identify as LGBTQ in the L.A Metro Area but racial disparities remain.
68% of board members and 61% of employees in supervisory roles are white.
Average earnings for entry-level white arts administrators are 35% higher that BIPOC - no matter their education level.
Recent studies have proven that Creatives with intersectional identities (Queer/BIPOC) often have a harder time breaking the glass ceilings in their careers.

Create New Opportunities For QTBIPOC Creatives
Our projects create new opportunities for writers, directors, artists, designers, and cinematographers.
Furthermore, our training programs don’t stop when the program is over - we aim to help each creative find a position or set themselves up for independent success.
Why Sponsor The Queer 26:
Make Your Support Public
Our work focuses on QTBIPOC folks. Your sponsorship gives us the ability to support up-and-coming queer creatives of color that deserve to be seen.
Invest In The Community
Your sponsorship allows us to run programs that train up-and coming queer and bipoc creatives.
These programs also create jobs for more seasoned creatives that want to help educate the next great wave of videographers, photographers, writers, and designers.
Expand Financial Equity
It’s hard to be a creative. Artists need money to buy materials and tools, to rent space, and to prepare for a career.
Your sponsorship will provide low cost-cost tools and resources that may otherwise be out of reach for struggling QTBIPOC creatives.
Testimonials
“I'm so grateful I found Q26. The club gave me the confidence to create the kind of art I want to create. Now, I am in post-production for a short film I wrote and directed.”
Kaila Tacazon, Past Filmmaker Club Member, 2022
“The Q26 welcomed me into their community with open arms and helped me to embrace my Queerness even more by giving me opportunities that exist in safe and Queer spaces. I now feel so involved in the Queer community and feel like I've made great contacts along the way. I've also learned so much about our community through the Q26. The film industry can be scary when you're on your own; the Q26 made me feel like I wasn't so alone in the industry or even out in the world. It is so refreshing and nice to work with Queer artists who are on the same page as myself or who I can learn from and develop new skills."
Torrie Mills, Filmmaker Club Member, 2021
“I acquired an internship through the Club. Now I am a content creator, a niche I never thought I’d be in this early in my career!”
Julia Kang, Publisher Club Member, 2022
I joined The Q26 last year and felt welcomed right away! The weekly scheduled meetings and workshops created a safe space to learn and grow my skills in filmmaking. I’ve met many fellow creatives that I’m excited to collaborate with in the future. I now have more experience and confidence to continue my filmmaking journey.
