Musician Nesu Releases Songs "Famous Daughter" and "Leaky Lips"

Nesu is a Southern Californian songwriter and self-taught bass guitar and guitarist originally from Monterey, California. Their music has been described as a creative mixture of groove, indie pop, and experimental sounds, which are definitely present in their latest two songs, "Famous Daughter" and "Leaky Lips."

The upbeat electronic pop song, "Famous Daughter," features songwriting and guitar from Nesu that harmoniously weaves together dreamy vibes with exciting energy. The title and lyrics are well-fitting to the attention-grabbing tune. However, the spot-on phrase almost never was.

"The song idea was originally called 'Favorite Girl,' explained Nesu in an interview via email. "I made up the guitar part and vocal melody years ago. I wanted to develop the song this year, so I sent it off to a producer (Maison). He produced the song. I felt like I needed to change the title and develop lyrics, so I came up with the 'Famous Daughter' title just from looking at social media and media. I was like, cool; it fits the melody, and it's an attention-grabbing title. Celebrity is interesting. It's just a fun song, and it can be from the media and or the fans' perspective."

Although "Famous Daughter" provides the audience with a happy feeling similar to falling in love with a celebrity by way of dazzling synths, an entirely different setting and atmosphere surrounds the easy-going jazzy sounds of Nesu's song, "Leaky Lips."

"The original working title of the song I had was 'Sweetness' because the guitar chords and melody are very sweet, but I thought the working title and having that as a song concept was cheesy," said Nesu. "So, when I started the process of professionally recording the song in a studio in late 2019, I came up with 'Leaky Lips.' I thought it would be cool to have dark lyrics in a sweet-sounding song. I definitely was influenced by indie artists' lyrics like Interpol and Lana Del Rey with this one."

The sweet melody and savory lyrics written and vocalized by Nesu flow together perfectly with the bass, guitar, beats, percussion, and synth for a calming and more sensual-sounding song that invites you to melt into relaxation. Both "Famous Daughter" and "Leaky Lips" are two amazing songs that are certainly worth the listen.

"I'm working on more music and definitely trying to hone in on my sound," says Nesu. "So, these first tracks are pretty experimental. Definitely up for some collabs soon too."
