The Queer26 Short Story Collection has been REVAMPED as The Queer26 Journal!
Each month, we'll select 1-5 pieces written by queer people of color to publish on our website based on a chosen theme. These pieces can be poetry, prose, short stories, or personal essays.
Rewards:
Selected authors will each be awarded $50
Selected work will be shared on our website, social media, and through our newsletter
Writers will be invited and encouraged to do a paid reading of their work during a Q26 event
All winning pieces will be published in a journal August 2025. All writers will receive royalties from sales.
September’s theme is "CHANGE". From the changing of the seasons to big shifts in where we are in life, how does change affect you? This month is all about the metamorphosis from one thing to another. In a world where change is always happening, how do you find peace or acceptance in the shift? This is the prompt to be mindful about how change can be healing. What do we want to change about our world? How do we get it?

This contest is for Queer Creatives of Color; please respect the space being created here.
*You are welcome to submit multiple pieces, at $5 per submission. Total submissions cannot exceed ten pages. All writers are encouraged to keep their entries between 100-1500 words each.
