Film Workshop: Breaking Into Sound Mixing

The Q26 and Pamela Xing-Berman are thrilled to invite you to this unique workshop packed with insights on how to begin a career as a sound mixer!

Interested in sound mixing but not sure where to start? If that sounds like you, then you came to the right place. Pamela can’t wait to share her path to developing a career as a sound mixer, resources for aspiring sound mixers, and knowledge about the various aspects and kit needs for recording sound on-location. Good audio is crucial to any project, and sound mixers are always needed on successful productions. Come to this workshop and learn how to take part in an immensely important aspect of filmmaking!

Why we love Pamela:

Pamela is a location sound mixer and sound designer who’s equally inspired by work for major industry leaders as she is for indie / artists and projects. She was involved in groundbreaking documentaries, award winning films, and critically acclaimed podcasts. Her clients include Netflix, Disney, A&E, NASA, and more.

She started her career as a singer / composer, attended the Howard University where she majored in Jazz Vocal, and then went on to receive a scholarship as a member of Hawaii Pacific University’s International Vocal Ensemble. She also got a Master’s Degree in Audio Technology at American University where she co-created their Women in Audio Chapter which provides a network for female engineers and encourages more women to enter the field of audio.

Please note that this workshop is for individuals who identify as LGBTQ+. All participants are expected to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment for all attendees. Space is limited, so be sure to register soon to secure your spot! We can't wait to see what you'll create and the connections you'll make.
